One-sentence description: The story of Nvidia's upcoming and success on the shoulders of Jensen Huang.
This book was: the perfect length
Do I think there's value for me to read this book again? no
If my memory was erased, I would tell myself to: read it right away
Top 3 takeaways:
- Nvidia focused on making a far superior product, as opposed to a marginally better product than the competition at a better price point. Jensen believed that people would pay a premium for a much better product, and this proved to be correct.
- Having a great leader in a business will determine over and over again if the business will fail or be successful. There is no replacement for an amazing leader at the top.
- Taking calculated long-term risks were a large part of Nvidia's survival and success.
Quotes:
"[Jensen's] parents wanted to send [him] to an American boarding school so [he] could get a good education. [...] But it was not a prep school as Jensen's family originally thought. [It] was, instead, a reform school for troubled young people."
